A self-proclaimed preacher who was a contestant in the TV pageant
"The Sexiest Bachelor in America" pleaded not guilty Tuesday(Sept. 29)
to murdering his girlfriend, a former adult-movie actress.
Brian Randone, 45, was arraigned in Pasadena Superior Court and
remained in custody on $2 million bail. He could face 25 years to life in prison
if convicted of beating and choking Felicia Lee on Sept 11 in their Monrovia apartment.
Detectives allege Randone tortured the 31-year-old Lee, noting they
found dozens of recent injuries on her body after Randone called 911
to report she was unconscious.
Deputy District Attorney Philip Wojdak said investigators believe Lee
was suffocated against a hard surface without a weapon being used.
Judge Terry Smerling called the injuries gruesome and sealed photos
of Lee's body.
Randone's lawyer, Mark Overland, said he had no comment because
he had just taken the case and had not reviewed the police reports.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 9.
Lee appeared in several adult movies under the name Felicia Tang.
She had moved in with Randone a few months before her death.

PASADENA -- A self-proclaimed preacher and reality TV contestant has been ordered to stand trial for the torture and murder of his girlfriend, ex-adult film actress, Felicia Tang.

A Pasadena judge ruled Tuesday that there is sufficient evidence to try 45 year old Brian Randone for the crimes.

Prosecutors say Randone beat and strangled 31 year old Felicia Lee, whose on-screen name was Felicia Tang, in their Monrovia apartment on September 11th.

Lee appeared in several adult films, including "Asian Fever' and "Hotel Decadance", and also modeled for the Playboy channel and had small roles in mainstream movies "Rush Hour 2" and "The Fast and Furious."

Tang could also be seen with reality star Tila Tequila in a popular 2003 erotic video found online, Tang and Tequila both nude and fondling each other in a pool.

Randone was a contestant on the 2000 Fox special "The Sexiest Bachelor in America." He didn't win.

Randone holds a bachelor's degree from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and a master's of divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, according to a brief 1996 biography on the Baylor University Web site.

Randone had a website in the early 2000s which appeared to focus on his ministry.

On the site he said that he "ministered to the hearts of believers and nonbelievers with his critically-acclaimed performances."

On the same site, Randone addressed his appearance in 2000 on "America's Sexiest Bachelor," writing that he had no plans to "try to be sexy." Representing his home state of Nebraska, and his own faith, he stated that he would "try to be a Christian first, a man second."

Randone remains behind bars on $2 million bail. He could face life in prison if convicted.

It's a little hard to see how being a contestant for sexiest bachelor could work very well with being a "preacher". I guess it could. -Gotta give him that.

-But even though we don't know whether he's guilty, I've got to wonder whether his ability to do un-"preacher"-like things is indicative of an ability to be a preacher capable of torturing and suffocating a girlfriend. While the sexy bachelor contestant/preacher incongruity may be...

-But is not necessarily indicative of doublethink, a preacher/murderer incongruity certainly would be.

-Gotta wonder if he's in favor of the death penalty... -Probably not. -But if he is, I'm gonna give it a 5 out of 10 chance that he's not in favor of it for himself.
