I came across this in while in another forum, Very intresting

Just carried out a check on the Registered users on line

Out of 104 users online :~

11 Guests
12 Hidden

39 joined 2006 ~ Nil posts
11 joined 2007 ~ Nil posts

11 joined 2006 ~ Less than 5 posts
12 joined 2007 ~ Less than 5 posts

8 with 20 posts or over.

This might sound like a sad experiment, but it shows that an average of 50% users are not contributing at all.

Implementing a rule that you can only register when you've made 5 contributions could be the way forward.

What are your thoughts

i know these stats are smaller than proving grounds but probably very similar in proportion

I don't think the forum is set up to allow guests to contribute as you are suggesting. And it's a bad idea in my opinion to allow guests that power. It would invite more spam than we could deal with. We are already cursing what is showing up now.

And the battle between contributor and leecher is something every public forum has to deal with. As of right now I do not know of any good solutions to this that wouldn't limit the growth of the good community members.

I'm very new here, and have only contributed once, but I thought I would throw in my two cents anyway.

Basically, I got directed here from Foobies.com a couple of times and finally started poking around. I didn't see it written anywhere as a mission statement, but it seemed like one of those good old school forums where there didn't seem to be too many (any?) trolls, very low levels of spam and a sort of general and mutual appreciation for hot girls and a little kink.

That's specifically what made me want to join and what makes me want to give back. I've been travelling with work, but did upload once last week, and I plan to again as often as I can. Basically, I felt kind of welcomed (not that there was any cheesy "Welcome" stuff, just a feeling) and it makes me want to contribute. If I'd got here and I started feeling like I wasn't wanted, that I needed to prove myself or otherwise was guilty of being a leech until proved innocent, I probably would have clicked around for a minute and then left.

This seems like a great forum, as a new comer, I wouldn't fix what doesn't feel broken. Just my two cents.

i do not know :)

what mostly disappoints here at PG at the moment is that imgvenue deletes pictures very fast.
some contributors try to make a quick buck with urlcash spam, but the moderators do a good job to keep PG spam free.

and the leecher ? sure saying thanks only takes one click i can not understand why some not do it ;)
