Which program is trying to play zips, and are they frank.zip or frank.zip.001 type files. Has absolutely nothing to do with Vista, if it's resetting then the player has that type of file set in it's stats and changing file manager won't do anything permanent.

Winrar will handle all your .zip and .rar needs, regardless of OS

If a file ends in .001 .002 etc, you need to 'join' them together with hjsplit (http://hjsplit.en.softonic.com/). So if you have:

082809bec.zip.001
082809bec.zip.002

You join them with hjsplit to get 082809bec.zip and then you unrar it in winrar and then you fap-fap-fap-fap-woooooo!! :)
